The Schomberg Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) was formed in 1961 as a way to provide organized hockey for all of the youth in the Schomberg and surrounding areas.  An Executive was assembled of volunteers to organize and supervise the various teams and manage record keeping.  Currently going into our 50th season, this structure is still in place today and continues to be driven by a hard working team of volunteers.  Since 1963, the Schomberg Community and Agricultural Arena has been called "home" for the SMHA and all the children who have learned to play the game.  On Friday March 25th, 2011 the last official game was played in the arena by our Midget Rep Red Wings versus Whitby Wildcats.

The SMHA open's its 50th season in the all new, state of the art, TRISAN CENTRE, in Schomberg.  This new facility offers a larger ice surface, additional change rooms and increased recreational facilities.  Although the "old barn" will be missed, the association and its membership look forward to creating new memories in its new home.
